Why Local Food?

LocalFoodWorks Information Libary

LocalFoodWorks was a partnership project of the Soil Association and Countryside Alliance to help foster local food economies. Although the project has ended , the information on the website is still available. The project was based in England, but much of the information is relevant to projects here. In particular the website contains an extensive library with sections on allotments, benefits of local food, box schemes in England (including CSAs), briefing sheets, business and marketing advice, case studies, composting information, health issues and more. This site is a good first stop for further information and links.
