The Highlands and Islands Local Food Network is a project funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise with support from Crofters Commission, NHS Scotland, and six of seven local authorities in the north.

Directors:

Drew Ratter – Consumer representative
Crofter and local councillor form Shetland.  Crofters Commission Chairman, Board member of Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Scottish Consumer Council.  Drew is passionate about local food and making it accessible to all.

Eileen Clark – Producer representative
Dairy farmer and cheese maker at Connage Highland dairy near Inverness.  Recently awarded best new food product in the Highlands and Islands Food Awards.  Eileen likes to get to know her customers face-to-face, and wants to see local food served in every school.

Simon Calder – Local Food Group representative
Experienced farmer and horticultural grower from Ullapool.  Chair of Lochbroom and Ullapool Growers Group a lively group of active farmers, crofters and gardeners, and pioneers of the healthy food prescription scheme with NHS Highland.  Simon likes to involve people and make sure everyone gets their hands dirty.

Jo Hunt – Executive Director
Network Leader with HILFN and a background in organic agriculture, food marketing and environmental economics.  Member of the Scottish Organic Food and Farming technical committee, and chair of the Scottish Organic Food Processing technical committee.  Jo wants to harness the rising interest in local food and turn into a real business that serves local people.
